I have been blogging on this site for a few weeks now, and have been following the series of events regarding the controversy of the
Dhamra Port in Orissa. With the latest turn of events I am not sure if I am enraged or amused!! I would like you, associate Greenpeace with active protection of the environment and not trying to pull down India’s pride Nano with cheap stunts!!!
It all seemed very innocent as Greenpeace tried to garner support for the protection of the
Olive Ridley turtle in
Gahirmatha. As the fact that
TATA has been environmentally compliant became clear and there was not much credibility in their claims, Greenpeace has actually stooped to a new low of attacking the Nano. The ridiculousness of the situation has gone far enough, these people should return to the country where they belong and leave us Indians to do our business. First and foremost Nano, the pride of India, one of many product lines of the TATA group, it is a great innovation – the cheapest car in the world. For god’s sake, the car is being manufactured in Gujarat and the turtles are in Orissa.
Secondly, does anybody realize that
TATA is not going to own the
Dhamra port, it is just involved in its infrastructure development and the port will be handed over to the State Government. TATA being TATA has received all the required environmental clearances and are taking various measures to ensure the safety of the breeding ground for the Olive Ridley turtle. It seems like Greenpeace has a well planned strategy to target and discredit TATA.
Today we as Indians are making our mark in the world in every field be it technology, medicine, finance. TATA Automobiles never went for a foreign tie-up all their vehicles are completely designed and developed in India. They promised us a people’s car, they said it would be priced at Rs. 1 lac and notwithstanding a lot of setback, they have delivered the car at the promised price. We all have a reason to be proud as, this is not only India’s cheapest car – it is the world’s cheapest car, making the dream of owning a car a reality for millions of Indians.
It is the responsibility of us Indians to protect our nation and its success from entities who are envious enough to go to any lengths to pull us down. This has become a serious attack on our attempt to break-out and be the world leaders in innovation. Let us stand united and shout -
GREENPEACE GO BACK!!!!!!
